God's Plans
So one of the coolest, and most humbling things, about God is that he has a plan for you. A good plan, a perfect plan, even if it may not seem so to us at the moment. And what is so incredible about this is that his will WILL be done, and he makes sure to let us know when we are trying to break off from his plan to follow our own.
Lately, I have been struggling to make time every day to spend with the Lord, reading his Word and devoting time to prayer. And I had been feeling like I needed to make changes in my own life to make sure I did this, but I was doing this out of a sense of obligation, not devotion. I had never really given it up to God to help me get back on track. And so last week at Lifegroup, God gave a verse and a message to a friend at Lifegroup to deliver to me, and it just hit me so hard. The verse was Psalm 94:11, "The Lord knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile." It just speaks so much truth about me personally, and about us trying to make our own plans. Our pans are futile, they are absolutely worthless and can never change God's ultimate plan for us.
But God has planned something much, much better for us(Hebrews 11:40). So while we may currently be frustrated by the things that are going on, while we may be cursing God for allowing us to be so hurt, just know that it is all in God's perfect plan. Jeremiah 29:11-14, " 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord. 'Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you.' " So we see that God's plan for us is good, and is designed to bring us closer to him. The pain, the struggles, they are all there not to discourage us, but to encourage us to seek our the Lord, to give up our struggles and just let God take care of everything. We need to stop trying to find our own path in life, and seek God first who will show us his perfect path.
